Apollonia

This was just another cool ruins site. it was right along the water so it was beautiful.
They kept building on top of each other. Whoever built it that time decided to use the old pillars and turn them the other way. i thought it was funny.
That night we went to the beach to watch the sunset.
Us being silly. the kids love to roll their tongues. and autumn is giving some attitude in this picture.

Eliat

We did so many fun things while we were in eliat. This is at the underwater observatory. they had all different kinds of fish tanks for you to look at. there were giant sea turtles and a shark pool and we even got to go on a glass boat.
The next day we went to a beach that actually had sand for the kids to play in instead of just rocks. they had an area for the dolphins. so we stayed for a while to watch them jump out of the water. there was even a dolphin named CINDY!!!
Everyone decides to come out at night. they stay out late and sleep in. it's so weird. this was at about 10:30 at night and the party is just getting started. There were all different kinds of shops down this strip. From very expensive to very cheap.
Snorkling was my favorite!! i had never done it before and we were able to go three times while we were there. the coral and the fish were amazing. i look so good in that mask! It kinda freaked me out at first though to be breathing while looking under water. it took some getting used to but then i could have snorkled all day long.
The hotel was really pretty nice. they had some sort of entertainment for the kids everynight. one night they had balloon animals then face paintings and the last night they had a snake and lizards for them to touch. river and autumn even touched the snake. me and ash kept our distance though.

MASADA

I have never been so hot in my entire life or sweat so much. by the time we left we were all disgusting but it was worth it.
mom definately would not have liked how high up it was
this is on the outside of the fortress. the walls are still standing from where the romans built their camps surrounding it. it amazes me that it is still standing when it was built during king harods time.
It was built on basically the side of a cliff. very neat to walk all the way around it.
We were able to rent headphones that tell you about each area. There were so many interesting things they decided to build. And they were so smart about everything. This is me and B sweating to death.

Dead Sea and Qumran

This was our first stop during our weekend trip. The camel was so cool and the guy giving the rides was so nice and funny. He kept having the camel move so we could take a million pictures.
This is at Qumran where the dead sea scrolls are. I can't believe how much i'm learning while i've been here. it's amazing!
He has he camel trained to lay his chin on top of your head. i was laughing so hard.
me and autumn entertaining ourselves while in the car. I have so many pictures that these four don't do the title dead sea and qumran justice, but i didn't want to have a forever long blog entry.

Ceaserea

We went to ceaserea tuesday night because B was very nice to take off work to take us all Eliat (Israel's resort town) wednesday morning. but i have way too many pictures from the weekend, it will take me a whole day to put them on. so i figured i'd just do a few pictures of what we did before we left.
this is in the middle of where B said the Roman's had their chariot races. I thought that was pretty cool.We were trying to reach all the way across the archway. so close.
i don't know why I have ballet arms, but the water was amazing it kept splashing up over the rocks and the view was beautiful.

what the....
